I’m high fiving myself right now for shooting back to back features both this month and September. I just found out that I am officially cast in Geoff Marslett’s new film, Loves Her Gun. Geoff is a total badass. His film Mars is getting a lot of heavy petting on the festival circuit. It has a lot of funny people and a special type of roto-scoping animation that he invented. No big deal.
Here’s the trailer:
This new project was co-written by Lauren Modery and stars Trieste Kelly Dunn. I’m more familiar with Lauren, because I’m a long-time reader and fan of her blog. In fact, I once thought I should go to those blog networking events so I could meet her because I’m sure we’d hit it off. I didn’t go because a.) that’s sort of a stalker-ish thought process b.) I hate networking and c.) I’m lazy. Thank you Austin for eventually bringing her to me. Now I just hope she likes me. (Again, stalker-ish, I know). Here’s a post where she talks about the movie.
I don’t know who else is cast yet, but the auditions were long improvisations, so that usually weeds out the people who can’t play well with others. I was really comfortable in the improv because I’d met Geoff before through some mutual UT graduate filmmaker friends, and I knew him to be both fun and one of the most unpretentious filmmakers in the business.
The film is currently in the fundraising portion of development. Here is the page where you can donate and find out more about the project.
